As the agency grows, hiring additional staff becomes necessary to maintain efficiency and continue scaling. However, many agency owners struggle with delegation, often holding onto tasks that could be effectively handled by their team. Successfully delegating is critical to an agency’s long-term success. Here’s how owners can identify tasks to delegate and implement a delegation strategy that empowers their team while allowing them to focus on growth and leadership. ## Identifying Tasks to Delegate 1. **Assess Daily Activities** – Track daily and weekly tasks to identify repetitive or time-consuming responsibilities that don't require the owner's expertise. These often include administrative duties, policy processing, data entry, and appointment scheduling. 2. **Prioritize High-Value Activities** – Agency owners should focus on tasks that drive growth, such as client relationships, sales strategies, and business development. Anything outside of these high-value activities is a prime candidate for delegation. 3. **Apply the 70% Rule** – If an employee can perform a task at least **70% as well as the owner**, it should be delegated. Holding onto tasks because they won’t be done perfectly limits agency growth and prevents employees from developing their skills. 4. **Identify Bottlenecks** – If certain tasks are slowing down workflows or causing stress, it may be time to pass them off to someone better suited to handle them efficiently. 5. **Recognize Strengths in the Team** – Owners should evaluate their team’s skills and experience to match tasks with the right employees.
