It also means starting without many of the resources, relationships, and systems that established agencies have spent years developing. Carrier relationships take time. Strong internal processes take time. Technology decisions, producer development, and operational expertise all develop as your agency grows. A network can give you access to resources and relationships earlier in your agency's development, helping you spend less time building everything from scratch. ## New Agencies Start With a Capability Gap You already know how to sell insurance, serve clients, and build relationships. But running an independent agency requires more than that. You need carrier access. You need to understand appetite. You need systems and technology that support the way you want to operate. You need marketing, sales processes, training, and a plan for growth. Access to people who understand carrier appetite and placement can also help you make better use of those opportunities. ## Expertise Can Accelerate Growth Too As an agency owner, you are expected to make decisions across a wide range of areas. Sales, marketing, technology, hiring, carrier relationships, workflows, producer development, and long-term planning all fall on your shoulders. That is where access to outside expertise can help. You still make the decisions, but you do not always have to make them without context, experience, or support.
